When you arrive at the Houston Surgery Center, you will be greeted by a friendly member of your surgical team; and then taken back to a private pre-op room. Here, you’ll have a chance to ask any final questions, talking with the staff and Dr. Vitenas before your procedure.
The nurse will start an IV and the anesthesiologist will begin anesthesia in the pre-op room, as well.
Through the Houston Surgery Center, Dr. Vitenas performs all of his surgical procedures on-site, in his two fully accredited surgical suites. Equipped with the latest surgical equipment and technology, both areas are designed for safety and comfort.
A Board-Certified anesthesiologist is on hand to provide local anesthesia, I.V. sedation, and general anesthesia. Experienced registered nurses and surgical techs ensure procedures are smooth and efficient.
Aftercare is a vital part of the recovery process. Houston Surgery Center is equipped with three state-of-the-art recovery bays, designed specifically for patients coming out of surgery. During this delicate time, immediately after a procedure, we provide continuous monitoring and care by a registered nurse. Once the anesthesia has worn off, and patients are fully awake, the nurse will carefully review all at-home instructions with the patients caregiver.
